I’ve moved to Barcelona and joined the SIRIS LAB R&D Division of SIRIS Academic SL in 2014. Since 2013, I’ve been an Assistant Professor in the KRDB Research Centre, at the Faculty of Computer Science, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy). I studied Philosophy in Milano and did my master’s thesis on the modal logic-based representations of first order quantification. After the graduation, a European Master organised at the University of Milano-Bicocca led me to start a PhD project at the Department of Computer Science, Systems, and Communication (DISCo) in the same university. My final PhD dissertation is about the formal specs for the design of knowledge-based systems for the chemical compound formulation problem. I have been a postdoc at the Department of Computer Science, Systems, and Communication in Milano-Bicocca, working on Knowledge Representation formalisms based on non-classical logics, until I’ve got involved in a 1-year visiting (2009-2010) at the Department of Logic, History and Philosophy of Science (University of Barcelona).

Research interest(s):  Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KR&R), Non-classical Modal and Hybrid Modal Logics, Formal Ontology, Ontologies, Theoretical Foundations of Conceptual Modeling.
